Istio 1.5 - PeerAuthentication not reflected on istioctl authn tls-check and istioctl x describe

In Istio 1.5.0 , on applying PeerAuthentication, you can’t see the authentication policy applied on checking via the commands
istioctl authn tls-check and istioctl x describe

However, the policies do work as expected.

Is there another way to verify the application of the authentication policy?

same In Istio 1.5.1 , PeerAuthentication default policy
istioctl x describe pod does not show the applied policy.

istioctl authn tls-check is removed in 1.6
