Kafka Support Available Soon?

What is the current status of Kafka support. I think this is being done by Envoy team but does anyone know where this is at now?

Perfect timing. Wondering the same. Iā€™d like to inject Istio side car with mTLS enabled. mTLS between Kafka and Zookeeper pods and app producer/consumer pods. Is this possible?

Is it any updated? Or is there any links to show how Istio works with Kafka?
