Redis over mTLS with Istio

I’m trying to inject a sidecar into my Redis instance but no dice. I know historically there’s been issues with this, but all solutions seem to be related to issues with replication, not connecting to the master node. I’m running Redis w/o persistence with the standalone arch, but my services can’t connect to the master node. Any suggestions? I’m on Istio 1.15.1
