Is api version networking.istio.io/v1alpha3 considered to be deprecated on 1.5.0+?

I have seen the documentation including networking.istio.io/v1beta1 examples alongside networking.istio.io/v1alpha3 but I could not easily find an announcement for the introduction of v1beta1.

Does the introduction of v1beta1 automatically marks v1alpha3 as deprecated?

From comparing the examples on v1beta1 with v1alpha3 I could not notice any change in the fields, nor could I find any mention in the release notes. What are the notable changes (if any) between the two api versions?

furthermore, the K8s operator will auto-convert the old CRD and will write a a betav1 CRD instead. test it.
