Istio-ingressgateway as 1x pod replica

Wondering if 1x pod replica of istio-ingressgateway is enough for production use. This is how it comes with default Istio Helm chart installation. Rather than running as Deployment with 1x replica I’m thinking of DaemonSet.

What are your thoughts?
