Slow distribution of Istiod configurations

Hi there!

We have Istio version 1.6, with 2000 pod’s in Data Plane and Control Plane with 5 pods istiod (2 cores and 5 GB CPU in each). When we install new services, new configurations are sent out for a very long time (Destination Rules, Virtual Service and etc. sometimes they are sent out for 5-10 minutes). How can we reduce the time of sending configurations? Maybe it’s worth using the environment variables from this link ?

Or are there any other ideas?

It is very difficult to say what is the problem with 1.6. There has been lot of changes and specific improvements in this area, So I would suggest you please upgrade and try on latest version.
