The 1.17 release branch cut is planned for tomorrow, Wednesday 01/18/2023.
No new feature requests will be accepted to the 1.17 branch after that, barring exceptions (Any requests for late arriving features must be approved by the TOC). Bug fixes cherry-picked into release-1.17 will mostly be accepted to the 1.17 branch. They must pass all required tests and be approved. For questions related to PR’s that need to be cherry-picked to the 1.17 branch, use the slack channel for the 1.17 release.
