Why is the istio version not prefixed with v？
You know, that’s a surprisingly interesting question that I don’t know the answer to. I’ve asked the test and release working group on Slack; there’s a chance someone might remember!
I don’t think this was a very intentional decision if I recall correctly. Although we did intend to follow semver which does not have v prefix (Semantic Versioning 2.0.0 | Semantic Versioning)
